The 2026 FUTURE FRAMES – Generation NEXT of European Cinem line-up brings together recent European film school graduates whose short films will screen during this year’s Karlovy Vary IFF. Nominated by their respective national film promotion institutes, EFP’s member organisations, and selected by KVIFF Artistic Director Karel Och and his programming team, the filmmakers will take part in a curated programme of promotion, industry meetings and networking activities before and during the festival.

Among the selected directors is also Marie Lukáčová (UMPRUM), with her latest short Orla, an eco-feminist fairytale musical produced by Klára Mamojková and Wanda Kaprálová of CLAW films, premiered at the IFFR Rotterdam earlier this year. Lukáčová is the ninth young Czech director selected for the FUTURE FRAMES program since its original inception.
