Vincel is a short horror film about an eighteen-year-old water goblin whose unrequited love for a young girl gradually erodes his fragile identity. In an attempt to capture her, he gradually moves closer to her through water – via pipes, a pond, and even molecular forms. Each failure deepens his frustration and leads to gradual radicalization. The film works with the archetype of the water goblin as a metaphor for inceldom, connecting elements of mythology with the contemporary theme of male loneliness. By combining live-action scenes with 3D animation, it creates a fluid space between the human and underwater worlds.
