Oanh, a Slovak-Vietnamese woman, recalls her 1990s childhood with Hana in Czechoslovakia, where xenophobia began shaping post-socialist life. Limits to Our Pain is a mosaic documentary combining archival materials, photographs, and staged scenes to reconstruct an individual past against the backdrop of historical change. The film gives voice to a minority experience and shows how even a small story can hold up a mirror to society.
