Lone Wolf tells the story of Josef František, the top Czech fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain, whose courage and solitary path in the skies reveal both heroism and the human cost of war.
Young Czechoslovak pilot Josef František leaves his Nazi-occupied homeland, travelling through Poland and France to Britain, determined to return to the cockpit and fight. Along a path marked by exile and war-torn Europe, he is joined by comrades who share his uncertainty, danger and resolve to resist. In the ranks of the legendary No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron of the RAF, his extraordinary talent, courage and fierce instinct quickly make him the most successful foreign fighter pilot of the Battle of Britain. Yet the same untamed nature that turns him into a legend in the skies brings him into conflict with discipline, orders and those around him on the ground. With every victory, his fame grows — as does the price he pays — until the exceptional pilot becomes a lone wolf.
