Years after the annexation of Crimea, Misha (24) returns to his Ukrainian hometown to attend the funeral of his father, who abandoned him when he was a small child, only to find a stranger’s body in the coffin. His father, a former Russian military attaché, has disappeared again and the trauma of abandonment has resurfaced. As he delves into his father’s world in search of answers, he is drawn into a dark world of provincial mobsters lurking beneath the sleepy town. As he uncovers his father's role in arms theft during the Soviet withdrawal, Misha finds himself in increasing danger. Torn between the familiar echoes of his past love and the seductive allure of proving himself in a darker, more dangerous world, Misha soon realizes that the burden of his father's legacy is too great to bear.
