This wild absurdist story, inspired by Thomas Mann’s novel The Holy Sinner, follows the fate of a lowly boy born out of forbidden love. His ambition and dreams propel him toward knighthood and royal glory, only for him to unknowingly marry his own mother, spend seventeen years chained to a rock, and, against all odds, become… the Pope!
